Voice Picking in Accellos One Warehouse: Workflow

This is the third of a series of articles that will look at voice picking using Accellos One Warehouse. The series also includes a voice picking overview and a discussion of voice picking ROI.

The Accellos One Warehouse Voice Picking Interface integrates Accellos One Warehouse with Vocollect's voice picking technology in batch mode. The interface currently integrates the Vocollect Voice Link 3.1 Solution.

Accellos One Warehouse provides an interface to Vocollect. The integration to Vocollect takes care of the voice-picking process in the warehouse. When voice picking is completed, the information is imported back into Accellos One Warehouse, completing the sales order process.

The typical flow in your warehouse looks like this:

• Sales orders are downloaded from your ERP or accounting system to Accellos One Warehouse and then allocated.
  
• During waving, you choose the option to pick with voice or with another picking method, such as radio frequency. 
  
• Sales orders marked for voice picking do not generate labels in Accellos One Warehouse but are instead transmitted to Vocollect.
  
• The information is passed from Accellos One Warehouse to Vocollect. In that way, sales orders that are exported to Vocollect for voice picking are prevented from further processing by Accellos One Warehouse until Vocollect confirms they were picked.
  
• Vocollect alone oversees picking orders in the warehouse.
  
• Information is returned from Vocollect to Accellos One Warehouse for further processing. The process continues in Accellos One Warehouse just as is does today, so there is no disruption to your current workflow.
  
• Sales orders are uploaded from Accellos One Warehouse to your ERP or accounting system as usual through the standard integration.
